Interviews with Jestina Mukoko

Interviewed May 4, 2011

When I came out of my experience, I continued to ask the question, why me? But I think I have transformed from that position of asking the question why me when a friend from college suggested that I read a book by Rick Warren, “The Purpose Driven Life.” When I went through that book, it talks about how even the Lord made his only begotten son go through pain, pain that he would have stopped, but he allowed him to go through it.

And my message is, there is a reason you find yourself in that position. And within time – time might not be reasonable, it might go on for a long time, but there will be an opportunity for you to come out of every harrowing experience. You will have to deal with the trauma, but at the end of the day you will be able to find your feet again.
