Semper Fi Fund, and its program America's Fund, are set up to provide immediate financial assistance and lifetime support for injured and critically ill members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families, directing urgently needed resources to post 9/11 service members the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Reserves. Semper Fi Fund has been working with wounded service members since 2004, offering assistance to lessen the burden for those who need it most. The Semper Fi Fund's streamlined structure keeps overhead very low – less than 6%; they are also one of three veteran charities to receive an "A+" rating from The American Institute of Philanthropy, and a "Four Star" rating from Charity Navigator

Many of these servicemen and women suffer from injuries including burns, loss of sight or hearing, and missing limbs, and Semper Fi Fund helps them with adaptive housing, customized transportation, and specialized equipment.  There are also the invisible wounds, the pain within that is often even more difficult to heal. But healing can also sometimes come in unexpected places: through organized events that bring service members with shared experiences together, through giving back to the community, even through sport.

Sports offer injured service members a venue to compete, to overcome obstacles and to celebrate their achievements.  Sports programs like Team Semper Fi, making "recovery through sport" their mission, offer service members camaraderie and community through friendly competition. Service members with physical disabilities or struggling with TBI or PTS feel stronger and more confident when they participate in team sports such as volleyball and basketball, or personal challenges like marathons, cycling—and of course, golf.

Which is one of the many reasons that Semper Fi Fund is honored to be a part of this year’s Warrior Open, a wonderful opportunity to honor and support our injured heroes.
