Warriors Selected for 2019 W100K Mountain Bike Ride Hosted by President George W. Bush

Part of the Bush Institute's Military Service Initiative, ride highlights resilience of post-9/11 veterans.

CRAWFORD, Texas – On November 8-9, President George W. Bush will host the 2019 Warrior 100K (W100K), a competitive mountain bike ride for United States military personnel seriously wounded or injured since September 11, 2001. This year’s ride will take place at President and Mrs. Bush’s Prairie Chapel Ranch in Crawford, Texas.

This year, 17 warriors will join President Bush on the two-day ride.  They include:

Staff Sergeant Kenneth Butler, USA, from Braintree, Massachusetts;

Major David Carrasco, USA, from Weatherford, Texas;

Colonel Patricia Collins, USA, from Alexandria, Virginia;

Specialist Earl Cox, ARNG, from Landover Hills, Maryland;

Staff Sergeant Scott Daley, USA, from San Antonio, Texas;

Major Gerard Dempster, USMC, from Tampa, Florida;

Staff Sergeant Victor Diaz, USAR, from Wylie, Texas;

Master Sergeant Adam Faine, USAF, from St. Augustine, Florida;

Sergeant Jonathan Hagerman, USMC, from San Antonio, Texas;

First Lieutenant Jeffrey Hobbs, USA, from El Paso, Texas;

Chief Petty Officer Abigail Malchow, USN, from Seattle, Washington;

Staff Sergeant Ruben Pagan, USA, from Lubbock, Texas;

Captain Kevin Rosenblum, USA, from Richmond, Virginia;

Lieutenant Jared Sarten, USA, from Eagle River, Alaska;

Major Eric Schneck, USAF, from Borger, Texas;

Gunnery Sergeant Brian Worbington, USMC, from Escondido, California; and

Corporal Joseph Zeppa, USMC, from Glendale, Arizona.

The W100K, part of the Bush Institute’s Military Service Initiative, showcases the courage, commitment, and resilience of post-9/11 warriors and underscores the importance of sports as part of the rehabilitation process for our men and women injured on the front lines. Since 2011, more than 150 warriors have participated in the Military Service Initiative’s Team 43 Sports, which include the W100K and the Warrior Open golf tournament.
