DALLAS – The George W. Bush Presidential Center will commemorate the 25th anniversary of September 11 with a special Engage at the Bush Center presented by NexPoint on Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 6:30 p.m. CT. A Legacy of Service: America at the 25th Anniversary of 9/11 will examine the enduring impact of the attacks and the spirit of service that continues to shape the nation in their aftermath.
The program will be headlined by a conversation between the 43rd President of the United States, George W. Bush, and the 66th United States Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, who will share their reflections on the legacy and meaning of 9/11 – how the day changed the country, how it continues to shape American life, and how the call to serve remains as urgent as ever.
The evening will open with a moderated conversation between General Dan Caine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and former Deputy National Security Advisor, J.D. Crouch. Their discussion will highlight the courage and accomplishments of our military in the Global War on Terror since 9/11.
The program will also feature voices from the post‑9/11 generation of veterans, including Jared Lyon and Melissa Stockwell, whose service and continued contributions embody the resilience, courage, and unity that emerged from the tragedy.
Together, these conversations will offer a thoughtful, elevated reflection on a defining moment in American history and on the enduring commitment to service that continues to strengthen the nation.
This event is complimentary, but registration is required and you will be asked to present a valid photo I.D. at event check in. A livestream will also be made available to tune in online.
In addition to the Engage event on Sept. 9, the Bush Center will host a moment of remembrance on Friday, Sept. 11 at 8:30 a.m. CT inside the Bush Museum. The community is invited to join Bush Center staff for a moment of silence to honor those who lost their lives and the service and sacrifice that followed.
