Stand-To 2021: A National Veterans Convening

Event

February 18, 2021

On February 18, leaders from the public, private, non-profit, and philanthropic sectors will come together to collaborate on how best to support post-9/11 veterans. At Stand-To 2021, we’ll examine research and solutions and offer policy recommendations that will equip veterans with the support necessary to continue their service as leaders to our country.

Research shows that while every veteran transition looks different, there are three keys to a successful transition: education, employment, and health and well-being. There is a sea of goodwill dedicated to supporting military veterans and their families with these issues as they transition back into civilian life. Government programs and initiatives, more than 45,000 philanthropic organizations, corporations, and millions of individuals are committed to improving veterans’ quality of life. However, these efforts do not always align, which can create confusion and gaps in service to transitioning veterans and their families.

In an effort to create more collaboration and coordination, three task forces focused on veteran employment, education, and health and well-being have been working throughout 2020 to develop observations, findings, and recommendations on how we can all better serve our veteran community. On February 18, representatives from the task forces will share their insights and call-to-actions.
