The Navy SEAL Foundation understands the importance of teamwork and we witnessed it at its finest at the Bush Center’s Warrior 100K.  During the three day mountain bike ride, wounded warriors were surrounded by people that were there solely to support them in this incredible 100K challenge and to honor their sacrifice and commitment to our great country.   All of the participating warriors endured war, sustained significant injuries and are fighting to overcome the challenges of everyday life that many people take for granted, such as bike riding.   Many of these warriors had visible wounds, while others suffered from invisible wounds such as Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).  What I noticed immediately was that even in the face of tremendous adversity and uncertainty, these warriors and their families displayed bravery, humility and an infectious positive attitude.   I heard from many warriors who were overwhelmed with emotion because of the outpouring of support shown by complete strangers.  Many indicated that this support and encouragement drives them to push harder, dig deeper and never give up.

The warriors who rode in the W100K are a testament to the incredible strength and resiliency that resides in each of us.  They are an inspiration and it is our distinct honor and privilege to serve them.
