The nation's economy has grown 6.7% since the recession officially ended in mid-2009, according to revised data released by the Commerce Department Friday. That is slower growth than earlier data suggested and makes it the worst three-year recovery in the postwar period. The revised data show just how close the U.S. came to another double-dip recession. The economy grew 2.4% in 2010, significantly worse than the prior estimate of 3%. And economic growth in the first quarter of last year—which was initially estimated at 1.8% before repeated downward revisions—now stands barely above zero, at 0.1%. Read More
