Another new study from the Kauffman Foundation, summarized in a New York Times blog, reveals troubling trends for business startups and the jobs they create. The data underscore the message in my earlier blogs that the U.S. needs aggressive action at all levels of government to reenergize startups, beyond the JOBS Act, which passed Congress in late March and was signed into law on April 5 by the President. Senators Jerry Moran and Mark Warner have proposed promising comprehensive startup legislation along these lines.
