About the Recommendations

The 2019 edition of our What’s Next Policy Briefs present specific proposals for both the domestic and international arenas. Domestically, we recommend strategies to grow the United States and larger North American economies, modernize immigration laws, improve education practices, and enhance mental health care for veterans. Internationally, our recommendations encourage the development of democracy abroad, control the spread of disease in developing nations, advance the rights of women in the Middle East and North Africa, expand democratic investment in Burma, and link North Korea’s human rights record to denuclearization talks.
