Scott Bilyeu

Staff Sergeant
U.S. Air Force
W100K Participant 2011

Staff Sergeant Scott Bilyeu retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Pararescueman.  In 2004, Bilyeu was injured in a severe helicopter crash in Afghanistan.  He spent years recovering from brain trauma and multiple broken bones.

Since rehabilitation, Bilyeu has biked across the country with the Sea to Shining Sea Team completing close to 4,000 miles during the summer of 2010.  While exploring the country, Bilyeu made many new friends and was inspired along the way by the American people.  Since then, Bilyeu has been working hard pursuing a degree in kinesiology and taking care of his son Ethan.

With the love of his family and friends, Bilyeu has pushed to be a better man “Showing my son, family, and friends that despite the setbacks I’ve endured, I will never quit pushing to meet any challenge given to me.”
