Margot Habiby serves as Deputy Director, Communications at the Bush Institute. In this role, she hones the Bush Institute’s  content, working with subject-matter experts to amplify their voices and also serving as lead editor and writing coach. She specializes in crafting compelling narratives from complex information. She is also the co-host of The Story of U.S. podcast.

Previously, she worked for Bloomberg News as a reporter, editor, and team leader covering markets and companies, mostly in the energy space. She has also been a freelance writer and editor for analysts, PR firms, news outlets, and universities. Early in her career, she covered OPEC as chief Middle East correspondent for Dow Jones, based in Dubai.

She received a master’s in journalism from Columbia University in New York and has an executive MBA in energy and bachelor’s degrees in journalism and political science from the University of Oklahoma.
