Interviews with Regis Iglesias Ramirez

Interviewed May 20, 2024

Describing the situation in which a normal Cuban lives, grows, and dies in is simple. They’re individuals who are completely dependent on the state for food and clothing, for acquiring shoes or finding employment, for getting paid for their work, coming in and out of the country, for having housing, a car, or a telephone or the Internet.

Cubans are cut off from all freedoms and they depend on a state that far from being protective, is very repressive to have access to basic things — human needs like having a home, or shoes, or clothing. That is the life of an ordinary Cuban, and it may seem extreme for many that don’t know the situation, but that is the day-to-day reality for all Cubans.
