The Continual Struggle: Reflections on the Civil Rights Movement
Engage at the Bush Center, Presented by NexPoint
Join us on Feb. 15 at 6:30 p.m. CT as two panels of experts discuss the current state of civil rights in America. The event complements The Continual Struggle, an exhibit at the Bush Center of artist Brian Washington’s work documenting the civil rights movement and America’s historical struggle against segregation and other forms of race-based disenfranchisement. The first panel focuses on the art, Washington’s creative process and his viewpoint on the progress that’s been made and the challenges that remain. Dallas Mavericks CEO Cynt Marshall, Big Thought CEO Byron Sanders and Bush Center-SMU Economic Growth Initiative Director Cullum Clark headline the second panel. Laura Harris of NBC-5 will lead the discussions.
