Promoting Economic Growth in the Northern Triangle: A Practical Approach
- Read the Bush Institute's paper: Toward a Digital Strategy for Competitiveness and Integration in the Northern Triangle
Central America's Northern Triangle is at a crossroads. Lack of economic opportunities, insecurity, and gang violence in Central America’s Northern Triangle are forcing migrants to leave at record numbers, with growing apprehensions at the US-Mexico border renewing attention towards US engagement with the region. Just last month, the current administration moved to cut almost $500 million in foreign aid to Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador.
Join the Atlantic Council’s Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center and the George W. Bush Institute on Tuesday, May 14, for a discussion of the challenges and opportunities in Central America and policy ideas that could create a path to sustained economic growth for the Northern Triangle region.
The event will also welcome to DC the Bush Institute’s Central America Prosperity Project (CAPP), a program that brings together proven and emerging leaders from the Northern Triangle to develop action-oriented strategies for advancing inclusive growth and prosperity in the region. In conjunction with the event, the Bush Institute will release a new report that outlines a focused agenda designed for broad economic impact in Central America.
