Engage at the Bush Center, presented by NexPoint
For the NexPoint Lecture edition of our Engage series, the Bush Center brings together leading policy experts, Richard Fisher, former President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, and Jason Furman, former Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisors under President Obama, along with President of the bipartisan Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, Maya MacGuineas, for a forward‑looking discussion on the foundational choices that will shape U.S. economic strength in the decades ahead.
Moderated by George W. Bush Institute–SMU Economic Growth Initiative Fellow, Cullum Clark, the conversation will explore the urgent steps federal policymakers must take to stabilize the national debt, preserve America’s tradition of open and competitive markets, and maintain U.S. leadership in science and technology. Together, the panel will examine how these pillars interact and what it will take to secure long‑term prosperity and expanding opportunity for all Americans.
