The George W. Bush Presidential Center Recreates Christmas at the White House in 2007 with “Holiday in the National Parks” Special Exhibit

Holiday season at the Bush Center includes holiday open house and keepsake ornament featuring painting by President Bush

DALLAS, TEXAS (October 30, 2019) – The George W. Bush Presidential Center today announced details of the 2019 holiday celebration featuring the all-new exhibit, Holiday in the National Parks: Christmas in the White House 2007. Open to the public from November 21, 2019 – January, 5, 2020, the exhibition allows visitors a glimpse into the magical White House holiday celebrations of 2007.

Reflecting our nation’s landscapes and historical sites, the special exhibit will be adorned with traditional and elegant decorations such as mixed greenery, gold ribbons, poinsettias, and white flowers. Models of the Alamo, the Frederic Douglass House, Mount Rushmore, Spanish missions, and more are incorporated into the exhibit, as well as behind-the-scenes photos of Mrs. Bush’s 31 visits to and 45 events in support of the National Parks. Don’t miss the replica of the official White House Blue Room Christmas tree, which will be covered in gold stars, gold beaded garland, and 347 gold ball ornaments – each hand painted by a National Park artisan to reflect park treasures from sea to shining sea.

2019 Merry and Bright Night

Sip hot cocoa, hear holiday music, and explore the new special exhibit, Holiday in the National Parks: Christmas at the White House 2007, as we kick off the holiday season on November 20, 2019. In what has become a Dallas holiday tradition, families can take photos in front of the Bush Center Christmas tree, with Santa Claus in the Oval Office, and take part in fun holiday festivities.

Holiday Ornament and Café 43 Holiday Menu

Celebrate the tradition of enjoying Café 43’s holiday menu, which offers the Bush Family Walker’s Point pecan pie. You can also continue your collection of Bush Center Christmas ornaments with the 2019 ornament, featuring President George W. Bush’s My Charge to Keep painting.
