A Celebration of Walter Lindsay Lloyd III's life

Lindsay joined the Bush Institute in 2011 after working for 16 years at the International Republican Institute. An expert on democracy and human rights with a regional focus on Central and Eastern Europe, Lindsay served as Deputy Director and then Director of the Human Freedom Initiative at the Bush Institute where he led original research and programming geared toward advancing freedom and democracy around the world. Most recently, he was a Senior Advisor on the Freedom and Democracy team.

“Lindsay Lloyd was a dedicated leader of the Bush Institute’s work in an area that matters deeply to Laura and me: human freedom,” said President George W. Bush. “Lindsay’s commitment to liberty and democracy inspired our team and benefitted people around the world. Laura and I will miss his kindness and intellect, and we extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.”
