Warrior Wellness Alliance: Addressing the Invisible Wounds of War

February 24, 2017
With effective care, invisible wounds can be overcome. We connect peer-to-peer veteran networks with best-in-class health providers. Find a member organization in your community.

Warrior Wellness Alliance Goals

Peer-to-peer networks break down the barriers that many warriors face in addressing these issues. By linking these organizations with high-quality care providers we will:

Increase the number of warriors in care

Improve the quality of care available, and the reach of that care

Increase investment in research that leads to better diagnostics and treatment approaches for the invisible wounds of war

Raise awareness and understanding of these injuries and treatment paths, including combating stigmas and stereotypes

Need Immediate Help?

Immediate help, including crisis hotlines, is available for warriors and those who care for them.

Find help now

Warriors who return home with the invisible wounds of war – post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury and others – may find it challenging to tackle the barrier their injury presents to meaningful transition to civilian life. They may be reticent to ask for help because of stigmas and stereotypes, or they may believe it is difficult to find, afford, and receive quality treatment and support services.

With proper care, these wounds are treatable and warriors can continue to lead on and off the battlefield.

To help more veterans access high-quality care, the Bush Institute launched the Warrior Wellness Alliance, which connects peer-to-peer veteran networks with best-in-class health providers.
