Chosen as one of 200 social entrepreneurs to meet President Obama at the 2010 Presidential Summit on Entrepreneurship, Vivian is the Founder of Charisma Arts: Handmade Gifts Empowering Communities.  Charisma Arts is a social enterprise that helps marginalized communities produce an income through manufacturing and selling genuine Egyptian handmade items.

Vivian was recognized as one of the first 35 female entrepreneurs in Goldman Sachs’ Women Enterprise & Leadership Program.  In 2003, she became the first Egyptian woman to launch an e-commerce site designed to promote and sell Egyptian handicrafts.  She also mentors a number of female entrepreneurs in Egypt.

Vivian believes that the path to Egypt’s reconstruction is through hard-working and dedicated social entrepreneurs.  She is especially passionate about the promise that female entrepreneurs hold despite the obstacles presented for women in Egyptian society.
