George W. Bush Institute
Education
Ensuring all students receive a quality education.
The Bush Institute believes that every child has the ability to learn.
We partner with nationally-known research organizations, policymakers, and school districts to ensure all Americans can access a quality education. Through the Laura Bush Foundation for America’s Libraries, we also provide grants to school libraries so they can extend, update, and diversify their book and print collections.
Our Nation’s workforce and public education are profoundly connected. But the two systems often operate independently, limiting students’ futures and the capacity of our economy. State leaders can create policies that help more Americans transition from education into careers, giving people real choices for their futures.
To increase achievement for children of all races, ethnicities, and socioeconomic statues, we must have:
- High standards and high-quality instruction
- Quality assessments tied to those standards
- Meaningful consequences for low performance
