Keith Hennessey is the David Rubenstein Fellow at the George W. Bush Institute. Mr. Hennessey currently serves as a lead faculty member of the Presidential Leadership Scholars (PLS) program. He leads classroom sessions focused on Values-Based Leadership, Effective Decision-Making, and Effective Policy Design and Implementation. He also serves as a faculty member in the Bush Institute’s Stand-To Veteran Leadership Program.
As a Lecturer at Stanford Graduate School of Business, Mr. Hennessey teaches economic policy and civics to MBA students and is a winner of the MBA Distinguished Teaching Award. Mr. Hennessey served as Deputy Director and then Director of the National Economic Council for President George W. Bush, advising him on a wide range of economic policies. Before working in the White House, he served as a senior aide in the United States Senate, helping to enact economic legislation including the 1997 Balanced Budget Act and President Bush’s 2001 tax cut.
Hennessey earned a Bachelor of Arts and Science in math and political science from Stanford and a Master in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School.
