Global policy leaders will convene on Sept. 24 to discuss how the U.S. can tackle the monumental challenges posed by the growing relationship between China and Russia
DALLAS, TEXAS – China and Russia continue to strengthen their diplomatic and military ties, posing a threat to U.S. global leadership and further fueling international conflicts, including the war in Ukraine. This month, the authoritarian regimes partnered on large-scale joint military exercises aimed at deepening their strategic relationship. On Sept. 24, KERA’s Think host Krys Boyd will moderate a George W. Bush Presidential Center Engage NexPoint Lecture with leading global experts about what the U.S. can do to counter the threat this burgeoning relationship poses to America and the world.
Panelists include John J. Sullivan, former U.S. Ambassador to Russia and deputy Secretary of State and author of Midnight in Moscow, a memoir of his experiences in Russia; Dan Schulman, former President and CEO of PayPal; and Ellen Bork, Fellow at the George W. Bush Institute.
Ahead of the Engage at the Bush Center conversation presented by NexPoint, the George W. Bush Institute — the public policy arm of the Bush Center — published recommendations for the U.S. government to effectively counter China’s dangerous authoritarian ambitions.
