Deepfakes: Addressing the Threat to our Democracy

Event

August 27, 2020

A panel of experts discuss “deepfakes” — videos that are manipulated through complex machine learning algorithms and artificial intelligence, often for ill intent. As the technology rapidly advances and deepfakes become more difficult to identify, the threat to our democracy is real. Discussing the topic are Dave Copps, CEO and co-founder of Worlds, Inc.; Glenn Gaffney, executive vice president and director of InQTel Labs and former CIA director of science and technology; Jeff McGregor, CEO of Truepic, whose mission is to “restore trust in digital imagery”; and Jessica Yellin, award-winning former ABC News White House correspondent and founder of the popular #NewsNotNoise Instagram feed. Moderated by Bush Center President and CEO Ken Hersh.
