John Taylor on Restoring America's Prosperity

February 17, 2012 1 minute Read by Amity Shlaes

Just published: John Taylor's First Principles: Five Keys to Restoring America's Prosperity. The Stanford economist, who was Under Secretary of Treasury for International Affairs from 2001 to 2005, argues that "the best way to understand the problems confronting the American economy is to go back to the first principles of economic freedom upon which the country was founded.... The good news is that if we begin to apply these principles to our current circumstances, we can restore America's prosperity and our confidence in the future."
