Senior Chief Steven Winingham II joined the United States Navy in 1996. He deployed to various locations over his 21 year service conducting various types of military operations globally. Winingham is the recipient of numerous honors to include the Purple Heart for injuries sustained while supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
In 2016, Winingham retired from military service as the numerous injuries sustained in combat took their toll. Continuing a life of service and again answering President Bush call for civic leadership, Winingham quickly became a dedicated philanthropist for wounded and disabled veterans and children’s charities. He completed his MBA and is the veteran’s program advocate and part-time radio personality on ESPN Dallas “Hozel Rocket” radio show. Winingham is an avid golfer, and continually promotes golf as a therapeutic tool for veterans and children to overcome physical and psychology injuries. He is a devoted husband and Catholic and dedicated father of four.
