Update: March 2016
Siouar’s experience with the Women’s Initiative Fellowship, and the guidance of a wonderful mentor, gave her the impetus to pursue a career that was meaningful to her. Immediately upon returning home, Siouar embraced the courage to quit a job that did not challenge her in order to accept one that did.
In her new role, Siouar has worked on a variety of projects, including one with Samsung’s Tunisian social media platform. As a part of a greater team effort, Siouar contributed to Samsung’s recognition as Tunisia’s Top Brand in 2015 (based on the total number of interactions on social media platforms). Shortly thereafter, Siouar was promoted to digital planner for the organization, which resulted in an increased number of clients and responsibilities.
Due to her continued success, Siouar transitioned to another prestigious agency in Tunisia that she believes will further expand her expertise. In her new position, Siouar convenes meetings with women in her network to critique each other’s writing samples and perform poetry readings. She attributes her professional growth to the relationships she established through the Fellowship.
In addition to expanding her professional portfolio, Siouar plans to create a project to promote outdoor learning for children. She is currently in the process of finding funding for this project and collecting advice from various organizations in her network on how to implement this type of program.
