Shayma is passionate about supporting and promoting women’s rights, both within Tunisia and across the Arab world. She has defended gender equality through published articles and by participating in conferences and debates at school. Shayma chose to study law to better understand citizenship, rights, and the duties of every citizen, allowing her to deepen her knowledge of women’s rights guaranteed by legislation. She works to ensure every woman is able to participate in politics.
Shayma has developed workshops that were organized with the support of the United Nations Development program. These workshops encourage women to participate in politics and to develop ideas that will improve the situation of women in Tunisia.
Shayma graduated from the University of Legal, Political, and Social Sciences in 2013 and obtained a Private Law Licence Degree. She is currently completing her Master’s degree and studying to pass the Judiciary National Exam to become a judge.
