John P. Szczepanowski joined the United States Marine Corps Security Force Battalion on Mare Island, California in 1989.  His assignments include Weapons Platoon Section Leader; Platoon Commander, 4th Combat Engineer Battalion; Noncommissioned Officer in Charge of Licensing Program, Marine Corps Air Station, Iwakuni, Japan; Senior Noncommissioned Officer at Walter Reed National Naval Medical Center where he created and managed Team Semper Fi – a cycling program for combat wounded services members and care givers; Team Leader, Police Transition Team 13, Western Al Anbar Province, Iraq; and Team Chief, Embedded Training Team, First Kandak Afghanistan.

John’s current assignment is with Wounded Warrior Regiment District Injured Support Coordination in Southern California.
