Heba Wahsh is a dentist in the Cairo region, where, in addition to her normal practice, she works for Operation Smile to provide treatment for children with dental and facial abnormalities. She has also participated in mission trips, including a month-long visit to Cameroon where she provided dental services to children in need.
Wahsh has been a counselor at the Wadi Sports Camp, where athletics are used to promote teen health. She received a degree in pediatric dentistry and general anesthesia and is currently enrolled in a master’s program in public health.
Since returning to Egypt, Wahsh has been volunteering with non-profit organizations involved in child and youth development. She tutors, teaches character-development and relationship-building sessions, and provides dental treatment to children living in poverty.
Wahsh is working with an existing NGO to develop a curriculum that addresses the psychological needs of at-risk youth, and she is starting her own NGO that will focus on child and youth development.
