Technical Sergeant David Romanowsky joined the United States Air Force from his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He served more than 16 years and completed several tours in the Middle East, including two in Iraq. During those two deployments, he conducted more than 800 ground combat missions to locate the bomb-makers and IEDs that were killing and wounding so many. He was awarded several combat medals, including the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart, for injuries sustained due to an IED attack.
Technical Sergeant Romanowsky now uses golf as his primary rehabilitation. He serves on the Board of Directors of the North Texas Wounded Warrior Golf Association and uses his experiences to help others find and use golf as a tool in their recovery process. He lives in Colleyville, Texas, with his wife, Gayla, and two children, Derek and Brooke.
