Corporal Daniel E. Carter served with the 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii.  In November 2009, he was deployed to Helmand Province Afghanistan serving as a 0352 TOW Gunner.  Daniel sustained severe injuries in February 2010 when 200 pounds of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) caused his armored vehicle’s mine-roller to land on top of him.

Daniel continues treatment for his injuries and is now living in Winchester, California and attending Junior College.
