Continue your evening and join usin overflow seating where we will welcome Heather Morris to the Bush Center for the sixth “Laura Bush Book Club” edition of Engage at the Bush Center. Morris is the author of three novels, including The Tattooist of Auschwitz, a No. 1 international bestseller that sold more than 12 million copies in 47 languages and will soon be an original series on Peacock. It has been described as a “beautiful, illuminating tale of hope and courage…based on interviews that were conducted with Holocaust survivor and Auschwitz-Birkenau tattooist Ludwig (Lale) Sokolov—an unforgettable love story in the midst of atrocity.” Anne Wicks, the Don Evans Family Managing Director, Opportunity and Democracy at the Bush Institute, will moderate what is sure to be a memorable conversation. In honor of the City of University Park’s Centennial Celebration, admission to the George W. Bush Presidential Museum will be FREE for all visitors Wednesday, April 10. Bring a friend and explore the American presidency through the lens of the 43rd president. Take a seat behind a replica resolute desk while posing for a portrait, test your decision-making in a presidential simulation, and even take a stroll through the Texas Rose Garden – all located in the Bush Museum’s permanent exhibit. Examine historical artifacts and some of our country’s founding documents in the special exhibit, Freedom Matters. Visitors have the unique opportunity to view a 14th-century copy of the Magna Carta and rare versions of the Declaration of Independence, Constitution of the United States, and Bill of Rights.
