On February 15, 2024, the Engage program will feature TODAY show co-anchor and Author, Savannah Guthrie who will come to the Bush Center to discuss her new book called Mostly What God Does.

Young Professionals will need to register for the networking reception, which is complimentary and a membership benefit.

Award-winning TODAY show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie takes the Bush Center stage on Feb. 15 to discuss her new book, Mostly What God Does. Guthrie, who has been with NBC News since 2007 – including a stint as White House correspondent during the George W. Bush Presidency – describes the book as “certainly the most personal and vulnerable thing I’ve ever done.”

In this collection of essays, Guthrie shares why she believes that in these uncertain times, believing in the power of divine love makes the most sense. Our audience will hear personal stories from her own joys and sorrows as a daughter, mother, wife, friend, and professional journalist. Charlotte Jones will moderate what is sure to be an inspiring and entertaining conversation.

A panel of former White House Social Secretaries will share insights and behind-the-scenes stories about entertaining at the White House. From State Dinners to picnics on the South Lawn, the experts will discuss the importance of the White House as a stage for hospitality and diplomacy.

Anita McBride, former Assistant to President Bush and Chief of Staff to Mrs. Laura Bush, will moderate a conversation with Jeremy Bernard, former White House Social Secretary to President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama; Gahl Hodges Burt, former White House Social Secretary to President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan; and Amy Zantzinger, former White House Social Secretary to President Bush and Mrs. Laura Bush.
