Dear Supporter,
The George W. Bush Institute is hosting a series of off-the-record listening sessions with a wide range of leaders and citizens to better understand their attitudes toward America’s democracy. These sessions are part of a project to develop a more robust and inclusive conversation among Americans on strengthening our democratic institutions.
As a generous supporter of the work of the Bush Center, we are pleased to invite you to participate in one of two sessions centered on understanding views on the roles and responsibilities of citizens, finding practical solutions for improving trust in our institutions, and learning how participants approach disagreement across (and even within) ideological camps. The listening sessions will take place at the George W. Bush Presidential Center on Monday, June 3 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Monday, June 10 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
These sessions will be held under Chatham House Rules to inform the Bush Institute’s American democracy work, which may include reports, issue-based content series, articles, explainers, policy briefs, and strategic program development. They may also be audio recorded for internal purposes and only with the consent of each group.
Thank you for all your support and involvement. We hope you will consider joining this important discussion.
If you are interested in attending one of the listening sessions, please RSVP to Abbey Batchelder at abatchelder@bushcenter.org by Friday, May 24, and don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions. Please note: This invitation is non-transferrable.
