Thank you for registering to attend the VIP Experience at the Bush Museum for the Sharon McMahon “The Small and the Mighty Book Tour’ on Wednesday, October 9, at 4:00 p.m. at the George W. Bush Presidential Museum.

Below you will find important event information as you plan your arrival. Please review in detail as some event logistics may have changed.

Schedule of Events

4:00 p.m. Check-in opens for the VIP Experience at the Bush Museum entrance
4:30 – 5:30 p.m. VIP Experience: Meet and Greet and Photo Opportunity with Sharon McMahon*
5:45 p.m. Shuttle service is available for VIP Experience Guests to McFarlin Memorial Auditorium
6:30 p.m. Last shuttle to McFarlin Memorial Auditorium departs
7:00 p.m. Conversation with Sharon McMahon at McFarlin Memorial Auditorium program promptly begins*
9:00 p.m. Conversation with Sharon McMahon at McFarlin Memorial Auditorium concludes
9:00 – 10:00 p.m. Shuttle service to the Bush Center resumes

*Please note that the photo opportunity will be taken on the personal device of the guest. We will not have a photographer on site.


Event Parking

We have very limited parking on campus. Please note the parking options below.

Shuttle Service

A shuttle service will exclusively be available to our registered guests for the VIP Experience with Sharon McMahon.

Shuttles will run before and after the event from the Bush Museum and follow the schedule below. Look for signage directing you to the shuttle pickup location as notated on the parking map.

5:45 p.m. Shuttle service to McFarlin Memorial Auditorium
6:30 p.m. Last shuttle to McFarlin Memorial Auditorium departs
9:00 p.m. Shuttle service to the Bush Center resumes


Getting to the Bush Center

Ride Share

Using a ride-share service is highly encouraged. Drivers may drop off and pick up at the designated location on the map below. Please note the physical address of the Bush Museum is 2943 SMU Boulevard.


Bush Center Parking

Limited event parking will be available in the Bush Center visitor lot located directly across the street from the George W. Bush Presidential Museum entrance (please reference the map below). Parking in these lots is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

When using the crosswalk between the parking lot and the Bush Center, please make sure to illuminate the lights to let drivers know you are crossing.


Check-In and Security Information

Check-in will take place on October 9, 2024, when doors open at 4:00 p.m. in the lobby of the Bush Museum. You will be required to present a photo ID and proceed through a security screening.

Prohibited Items

Prior to your arrival, review our list of prohibited items below.

  • No weapons of any type, including pocketknives or guns are allowed inside the facility.
  • No outside food and drink.
  • Large bags and backpacks are not permitted. Only one purse or diaper bag is allowed per person, and bags cannot be larger than 17 × 26 inches (43 × 66 centimeters) in size.
