Thank you for registering to attend Pups in the Park on Saturday, October 5, and kick-off the fall season in our beautiful 15-acre Laura W. Bush Native Texas Park.

This fun, free event includes a guided park tour by North Texas Master Naturalists, local vendors on the Great Lawn, and candid photos of you and your pup for purchase.

Photos
  • The George W. Bush Presidential Museum’s photography team, Photogenics, will be capturing candid photos of our furry friends in the park.
  • Photos will be available for purchase.

Below you will find important event information as you plan your arrival.

Please note that dogs must be on a non-retractable leash at all times, up to date on all vaccinations, and not aggressive towards people or other animals.

Note: Please plan to meet at the main entrance of the Bush Museum by the fountain.

What time should I arrive?

This is a come and go event. Vendors will be set up starting at 10:00 a.m. to greet our furry friends.


What should I wear?

We recommend dressing comfortably for outdoor weather.


What should I bring?

  • Waste bags for your dog. Trash cans are located throughout the park to dispose of these items.
  • Consider bringing sunscreen and a hat.
  • Please be aware that there might be ants or other insects in the park. There are two active beehives on the west side of the park.


Trail Information

Paved walkways lead to the entrance of the Laura W. Bush Native Texas Park. The park contains a one-mile network of both decomposed granite and mulched trails. Comfortable shoes are recommended for walking the trails. Please stay on the pathways and lawns to avoid trampling the wildflowers.


Event parking

We have very limited parking on campus. Please note the parking options below.


Bush Center Parking

Limited event parking will be available in the Bush Center visitor lot located directly across the street from the George W. Bush Presidential Museum entrance (please reference the map below). Parking in these lots is available on a first-come, first-served basis. When using the crosswalk between the parking lot and the Bush Center, please make sure to illuminate the lights to let drivers know you are crossing.


Visitors will be charged $10 per car for the first 4 hours and $1.00 for each additional 30 minutes. Visitors will pay by credit card upon exiting the parking lot.

What if it rains?

In the event of inclement weather, this event will not take place.
