Below you will find important event information as you plan your arrival. Please review in detail as some event logistics may have changed.

* Note: In consideration of our speakers and guests in attendance, the program will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m. Please plan accordingly to avoid any delays in your arrival.


Event Parking

We have very limited parking on campus. Please note the parking options below.

Ride Share

Using a ride-share service is highly encouraged. Drivers may drop off and pick up at the designated location on the map below. Please note the physical address of the Bush Institute is 6100 Bush Avenue, on the west side of the complex. The main Bush Museum entrance on SMU Boulevard will not be open.


Bush Center Parking

Limited event parking will be available in the Bush Center visitor lot located directly across the street from the Bush Museum entrance (please reference the map below). Parking in these lots is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note the Bush Museum entrance on SMU Boulevard will not be open for arrival.

When using the crosswalk between the parking lot and the Bush Center, please make sure to illuminate the lights to let drivers know you are crossing.

Purchase Over Ruled: The Human Toll of Too Much Law

Purchase your copy of the book, Over Ruled: The Human Toll of Too Much Law. Books may be picked up on event day upon your arrival.

These books are not pre-signed. In order to have your book signed, please plan to participate in the book signing from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. following the conversation. There will not be an opportunity for personalization.

Check-In and Security Information

Check-in will take place on September 7, 2024, when doors open at 5:00 p.m. in the lobby of the Bush Institute. You will be required to present a photo ID and proceed through security screening.

Prohibited Items

Prior to your arrival, review our list of prohibited items below.

  • No weapons of any type, including pocketknives or guns are allowed inside the facility.
  • No outside food and drink.
  • Large bags and backpacks are not permitted. Only one purse or diaper bag is allowed per person, and bags cannot be larger than 17 × 26 inches (43 × 66 centimeters) in size.

Cash Bar

Beverages will be available to purchase at the cash bar. If you wish to bring your beverage into the auditorium, a reusable tumbler can be purchased for $4.00. These are available at point of sale.

Seating

Seating for this event will be general admission. Upon your arrival, Bush Center staff will direct you to a seat in the Auditorium. Seats will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
