Bush Museum After Hours: A Conversation with WWII Pilot John "Lucky" Luckadoo and Author Dr. Donald L. Miller

In collaboration with the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force, please join us at the George W. Bush Presidential Museum for an evening with historian and author of Masters of the Air, Dr. Donald L. Miller, and longtime Dallas resident Major John “Lucky” Luckadoo, who flew 25 missions in a B-17 during World War II. Jason Galui, Director for Veterans and Military Families at the Bush Institute will moderate this discussion. A meet and greet with both speakers will follow the conversation.

As Russia and China increasingly collude to fuel global conflicts and challenge U.S. international primacy, a distinguished panel will discuss how the United States should deal with the authoritarian threats emanating from Moscow and Beijing.

The conversation will feature John J. Sullivan, former U.S. Ambassador to Russia and Deputy Secretary of State; Dan Schulman, former President and CEO of PayPal; and Ellen Bork, Fellow at the George W. Bush Institute.

The Situation Room Tours

Experience a deep dive into the history of the Situation Room, also known as the “Sit Room”, during this 30-minute seated presentation. Afterward, explore the Situation Room as it was actually used by President George W. Bush.

The Sit Room was extensively renovated and upgraded in 2006 with more advanced technology. The wood-paneled walls dating to President Richard M. Nixon’s Administration as well as the conference table and chairs used during President Bush’s Administration were preserved during the 2006 renovations and have been installed here at the George W. Bush Presidential Museum.

The Situation Room is the nerve center of information for the President of the United States. Established in 1961, the Sit Room in the White House is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week to monitor national and world intelligence information.
