Experience the wonder of song and spirit as the African Children’s Choir wrap up their year long tour of the United States, entertaining and enchanting audiences across the country. Hear about their adventures and experiences and enjoy special performances.
The evening also featured clips from Imba Means Sing, a documentary film chronicling the journey of former choir members and spreading the message of dignity and hope.
The story of the African Children’s Choir: Thirty years ago, Ray Barnett was on a humanitarian trip to war-torn Uganda when he gave a small boy a ride from his decimated home to the safety of another village. During the journey, the child did what he knew how to do best – he sang. That simple song became the catalyst for a program that has changed the lives of thousands of children and reshaped the future of the African continent. The choir raises funds that provide housing and education to Ugandan children.
Tickets include special after-hours entry to our new special exhibit, A Season of Merriment and Melody, which recreates the holiday magic of the 2004 Bush White House.
