President George W. Bush to Greet US Captain William Reynolds and Accept Invictus Games Flag

Flag will remain on display at the Bush Center until May 3

On Monday, April 25, 2016, President Bush, Honorary Chairman of the Invictus Games Orlando 2016, will receive the Invictus Games flag from Army Captain William Reynolds, the U.S. Team Captain. Reynolds will present the flag to President Bush to display at the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum.

President Bush, Captain Reynolds, and David Coker, president of the Invictus Games 2016 Organizing Committee, will offer brief remarks about what to expect at the Invictus Games Orlando 2016, an international adaptive sporting event for wounded, ill, and injured service members and veterans, which will take place at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at WALT DISNEY WORLD® from May 8-12.  President Bush will also highlight the Invictus Games Policy Symposium on Invisible Wounds presented by the Bush Institute, an international conversation addressing the invisible wounds of war: post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury and other psychological health conditions. 

The Invictus Games Flag Tour began at Buckingham Palace in London and has been on display at the Intrepid Museum in New York City. It will remain on display at the Bush Center from Monday, April 25 until May 2 and can be viewed by the public free of charge.

Event participants available for interviews following the event will include Captain William Reynolds, David Coker, members of the Bush Institute’s Military Service Initiative.
