Series: Accountability Summary and Analysis

The George W. Bush has established key principles of an effective accountability system and analyzed state waivers based on the principles.

State applications to waive certain provisions of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act can be an opportunity to advance more robust accountability systems that reflect stronger reforms.  However, waivers used in the wrong way can weaken accountability which will only serve to deny students the education they deserve.
