Since the start of the pandemic, college enrollment has been down by nearly a million students and by nearly 3 million over the last decade. Justine Taylor-Raymond, Deputy Director of the Bush Institute Education Reform Initiative, shares what three things we need to monitor:

 

1) Are Americans heading into the workforce and seeking jobs that have high growth and opportunity?

 

2) Is this a culture change or a short-term shift? FAFSA applications can be one of the ways to determine this.

 

3) Declining community college enrollment may indicate individuals are seeking immediate wages vs. long-term success.
