Scott Murray of The Texas Daily sat down with one of the incredible Egyptian Fellows from the Women’s Initiative Fellowship, Mariz Doss. Mariz, a Fellow from the 2013 Class that graduated last week, talks about the skills she learned in the program and her work to make a safe street-running environment for men, women, and children in Cairo. Her passion for fitness inspired her to create an initiative called Cairo Runners, which started out with 60 runners who met on Friday mornings and has grown to host two half-marathons in the city. “We just had our second half-marathon the 28th of February… and we had more than 4,000 registered runners,” Mariz says. Her story is just one of many  powerful success stories from the 2013 Fellowship Class.
