President George W. Bush will host the third annual W100K on May 23-25, 2013 at President and Mrs. Bush’s Prairie Chapel Ranch near Crawford, TX. Fourteen members of United States service personnel who were seriously wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan will participate in this year’s 100-kilometer mountain bike ride. The W100K, part of the Bush Institute's Military Service Initiative, highlights the bravery and sacrifice of warriors and recognizes organizations that support America’s heroes.

The W100K also heralds the significant contributions of organizations that support these heroes and their families while they are gone and when they return home.  Organizations represented on this year’s ride include the Combat Wounded Veteran Challenge, Team 4MIL and the Navy Seal Foundation.

The Bush Institute’s Military Service Initiative is dedicated to serving members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families and has a special focus on those wounded in the Global War on Terror.  The Initiative has two programs: Team 43 Sports, including the W100K and Warrior Open Golf Tournament, and the Circles of Excellence Program, dedicated to supporting the needs of our nation’s veterans.
