Learn more about the changes underway in Egypt in the new Freedom Collection interview with journalist and activist Namees Arnous.  During the Egyptian Revolution, Namees resigned in protest when her television channel asked her to spread inaccurate information.  She now is active in civil society and has started a new media production company.  Namees was also among the inaugural participants of the Bush Institute’s Women’s Initiative Fellowship Program, a leadership program designed to empower and equip women to catalyze change. Despite Egypt’s difficulties, Namees remains optimistic for her country’s future.  In her interview, she said, “I believe that Egypt as a country must lead the Middle East. We have a very, very strong history. We have a civilization. We have natural resources and human resources. And we have a new generation, full of hope and full of power to change the society.” Watch the interview here. This post was written by Lindsay Lloyd, Program Director of the Freedom Collection.
