2012 Women's Initiative Fellowship Program

Event

February 2, 2012 - March 1, 2013

In 2012, The George W. Bush Institute convened the inaugural class of the Women’s Initiative Fellowship Program (WIFP). The WIFP, the signature program of the Women’s Initiative at the Bush Institute, is designed to empower and equip women to catalyze change. The Fellowship is a leadership program that engages women from around the world, with an initial focus on the Middle East, and women from the United States.

The purpose of the Women’s Initiative Fellowship Program is to develop leadership skills; to exchange techniques, ideas, and expertise; to provide effective tools which will empower women in the Middle East to be a force for change; and to create a robust and supportive global women’s network. The Fellowship is uniquely structured to establish a strong global women’s network which will help develop civil society and ultimately lead to greater empowerment and freedom. Members of the global women’s network will work together on key issues in their respective communities and countries to create significant and lasting change.
