Remembering Barbara Bush

“Engage at the Bush Center, Presented by Highland Capital Management” honors Mrs. Barbara Bush in two-part program on September 24.

DALLAS (September 13, 2018) – On September 24, The George W. Bush Presidential Center will present “Remembering Barbara Bush,” part of the “Engage at the Bush Center, Presented by Highland Capital Management” series.  The sold-out event will be livestreamed at bushcenter.org, and via Facebook Live and Twitter.

The program will be moderated by Cokie Roberts of ABC News and will include two panels: The first will feature a group of experts reflecting on Mrs. Bush’s legacy as first lady:

  • Susan Baker, longtime close friend who eulogized Mrs. Bush at her memorial service
  • Andy Card, Secretary of Transportation under President George H. W. Bush and former White House Chief of Staff under President George W. Bush
  • Susan Page of USA Today, author of the upcoming biography, “The Matriarch: Barbara Bush and the Making of an American Dynasty”

The second panel will feature reflections and stories from several of Mrs. Bush’s loving grandchildren, including Barbara Bush and Jenna Bush Hager.

The Engage public programming series brings newsmakers, thought leaders, and innovators to the Bush Center. Thought-provoking lectures and discussions allow visitors to connect with the Bush Center in a new way and dive deeper into many of the issues and policy areas that matter most.
