The 2013 Bush Center Ornament, featuring artwork by President George W. Bush:

In case you missed it, last night President George W. Bush discussed his painting hobby, along with life in Dallas and the work of the Bush Institute, with Jay Leno on The Tonight Show.

The President jokingly shared saying to his art teacher, “There’s a Rembrandt trapped in this body…your job is to find it,” as he described his artwork and weekly painting lessons to Leno.  President Bush even revealed a portrait he painted of the late-night host as a gift.

But this isn’t the only place the public can see President Bush’s talent. This year, a Presidential work of art will hang from Christmas trees around the world, in the form of a George W. Bush Presidential Center commemorative Christmas ornament.  The ornament, available exclusively at the Bush Center’s Museum store, features an image of a cardinal, originally painted for Ambassador Warren Tichenor by President Bush.

The three dimensional metal ornament, reminiscent of the White House Historical Association ornaments, is the first commemorative Bush Center Christmas ornament to be released and is a limited edition. It is available in green or red packaging, and retails in the Museum Store at the Bush Center or online for $29.98.
