A new report on education and principal preparation features the work of several Bush Institute Education Reform team members. Change Agents: How States Can Develop Effective Leaders makes the case that now is the time for states to take action to improve the preparation and licensure of principals and provides specific policy recommendations. Bush Institute Education Reform Director Kerri Briggs, who co-authors the foreword, writes:

“While recent state efforts to infuse additional rigor and promote accountability into school leadership policies are encouraging, there is still much work to do to ensure that dynamic and effective principals are leading every school. We hope this new report helps states take action to implement proactive and coherent strategies for expanding the numbers of talented school leaders"

AREL Program Director Kerry Ann Moll and Education Reform Fellow Jacquelyn Davis also contributed to the report. Learn more about their work and check out the report here.
