This post originally appeared on www.freedomcollection.orgThe Freedom Collection’s Mohsen Sazegara, an Iranian political dissident and freedom advocate, offers his unique perspective on the inner workings of the regime in Tehran.  In this video, Mohsen explains the motivation behind street protests that erupted in Iran yesterday.   International sanctions levied against the regime for its dubious nuclear program have impacted the Iranian economy; inflation is out of control and the value of the Iranian rial has plummeted.  On Wednesday, public outrage reached a breaking point as frustrated citizens took to the streets, calling for the resignation of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and denouncing his government’s support for Syria’s Bashar al-Assad instead of them.  In Mohsen’s view, these protests may be the first spark in a chain reaction of public demonstrations against the regime’s economic policy.
